Ethics of Scientific Publications

The editorial board of the journal, guided by a system of standards based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), is responsible for compliance with ethical standards regarding the publication and dissemination of scientific research results, and encourages participants in this entire process to follow the ethical principles of scientific publications.

Manuscripts submitted for publication in the journal undergo initial review for originality and design requirements. Subsequent reviewing (expert assessment) is carried out by specialists - members of the editorial board, members of the expert council and/or other most authoritative scientists collaborating with the editorial board of the journal. Compliance with standards of ethical conduct is important for all parties involved in publication: the journal's editorial board, authors and reviewers.

Principles of professional ethics in the activities of the editorial board

In its activities, the editorial board is responsible for the publication of copyrighted works, which leads to the need to follow the following fundamental principles:

  • The editorial board in its activities is guided by the principles of science, objectivity, and professionalism.
  • The interaction of the editorial board with authors is based on the principles of fairness, courtesy, objectivity, honesty and transparency.
  • Unpublished data, information or ideas obtained from submitted manuscripts should not be used for personal purposes or disclosed to third parties without the consent of the author.
  • The duty of the editorial board is to prevent situations where authors, reviewers or other subjects involved in the process of publishing scientific articles show signs of unethical behavior, as well as to ensure the removal of publications by unscrupulous authors that contain plagiarism, falsification and fabrication of data from scientific circulation.

Ethical principles in the activities of a reviewer

The reviewer, as an expert acting on behalf of the journal "Muarrix", carries out a scientific examination of copyright materials in order to determine the possibility of their publication, as a result of which his actions must be unbiased, consisting in compliance with the following principles:

  • A manuscript received for review should be treated as a confidential document that cannot be passed on for review or discussion to third parties not authorized by the editor.
  • The reviewer is obliged to give an objective and reasoned assessment of the presented research results. Personal criticism of the author is unacceptable.
  • Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts should not be used by the reviewer for personal purposes.
  • A reviewer who, in his opinion, does not have sufficient qualifications to evaluate the manuscript or cannot be objective, for example, in the case of a conflict of interest with the author or organization, should inform the editor and ask to be excluded from the review process of this manuscript.
