Training of Medical Personnel in the Turkestan Region (Late 19th – Early 20th Century).
Abstract
The article highlights the problems of training medical personnel and organizing medical institutions in the Turkestan region. The analysis shows that the administration of the Turkestan Governor-General pursued a policy of attracting specialists from the center through various privileges, while no program was developed to train doctors from among the local population. As a result, in remote areas predominantly inhabited by the indigenous population, the problem of access to qualified medical care persisted.
